ART 100 | Art Appreciation | 3 Credits
A beginning course in the study of art with relation to the nature of art, art expressions, experiences and creativity. The course will examine the visual communication of art forms as related to cultural heritage. This course is also a foundation for developing critical thinking by observation, evaluation, interpretation, and criticism.
ART 110 | Drawing 1 | 3 Credits
An introduction to the principles of freehand drawing, the materials and techniques for visual expression, and the expression of cultural heritage.
ART 111 | Drawing 2 | 3 Credits
A continuation of Drawing 1, students acquire a deeper understanding of the communicative power of drawing. The course combines projects dealing with advanced drawing techniques and others that focus on the student’s own interests and self-exploration.
ART 112 | Figure Drawing | 3 Credits
Through demanding assignments, frequent technical demonstrations and lectures on the figure in ancient and contemporary art, students work on projects dealing with basic drawing techniques and others that focus on issues related to the human body.
ART 120 | Design 1 | 3 Credits
Students acquire a basic yet comprehensive understanding of 2D design principles, as well as a deeper connection to their own tribal designs and personal designs.
