Environmental Science

Environmental Science and Humanities Building

The department offers an Environmental Science Bachelor of Science degree (ESBS) as well as an Associate of Science degree in Natural Science. Natural Sciences faculty members have conducted a variety of research studies on the natural world; from vertebrate physiology and fish responses to climate change to soils and native plant cultivation. We endeavor to weave our past and current research interests into each class to provide compelling stories to go with the complex scientific concepts students will be learning. We offer a variety of courses that allow you to apply what you learned in lecture in a lab or field setting. Students participate in hands-on laboratory and field experiences to learn about topics including but not limited to: cellular biology, animal physiology, oxygen depletion in water, bird diversity, rangeland management and animal and plant genetics.

We welcome you to explore the natural world and learn all you can about the complex ecosystems that sustain our communities.
