Humanities

How do we create stories and meaning out of the chaos that life often presents? Where can we look to for answers to our questions about life? How do we determine what the right way to live life is? The humanities help us answer these questions. Whether you are reading Shakespeare or Sherman Alexie, performing at the Thunderbird Theatre, throwing a pot in Ceramics, producing a video, or writing stories – through study, reflection, and academic rigor, the humanities help us discover how we can use our imaginations to make our lives – and our world – better.
The College of Humanities consists of the departments of Communication Studies, English, and Fine and Performing Arts, and the office of the Dean of Humanities is housed in Ross Hall. We currently offer associate degrees in Liberal Arts, Communication Studies, and Media Communication.
We hope to see you soon!
