KU Exchange

 

Haskell Indian Nations University is cooperating with the University of Kansas (KU) by mutually supporting the academic programs of study that each institution offers. This program is further explained in the Memorandum of Understanding(MOU) that be located here.

This program provides the Haskell Indian Nations University students or the University of Kansas students the opportunity to take a class at either Haskell or KU campus while remaining a full-time student at their home campus.

The Haskell/KU Exchange Program does not qualify the KU students for in-state tuition & fees.

What academic requirements are needed?

  • 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Must be in good academic standing
  • Meet the class pre-requisites

When to apply?

Continuing Haskell students should apply during the pre-enrollment period. Check out the Haskell academic calendar for dates.

Expenses Haskell students will need to take care of?

Students are required to pay for the KU parking permit, books required for the KU class, lab fees associated with the class and other expenses associated with the class (i.e. gas back and forth if the student drives their own vehicle)

Transportation

  • Transportation is not provided
  • The City of Lawrence does provide a bus that runs between the campuses. Please look at the following website for route times (org/routes)

When will my grades be posted?

  • Once University of Kansas has posted their grades, KU Representative will provide the grades to the Haskell Office of the Registrar and the grades will be posted to the semester grades.
  • For University of Kansas students, once Haskell has posted grades then the grades will be provided to KU representative.
  • Classes will be identified as a regular class on the student’s home institution transcript. The classes will not be considered a transfer class.

“Where do I look up classes available at the University of Kansas?”

You can look up the classes on KU’s website (classes.ku.edu)

“How do I know if I’ve met the class pre-requisite(s)?”

When you look up the class, the pre-requisites are listed in the description of the class. Then you can also check to see what the KU class titles for the pre-requisites.

“How do I know I have all the required class requirements on the application form?”

Some classes will have a lecture (LEC) and a laboratory (LBN) or a lecture (LEC) and discussion (DSN) section listed.

“How do I know I have all the required class requirements on the application form?”

Some classes will have a lecture (LEC) and a laboratory (LBN) or a lecture (LEC) and discussion (DSN) section listed.
**It’s best to put both classes on the application form to cover if you need the other class item.
