Financial Aid Application Checklist
FAFSA School Code: 010438
Step 1: Apply for Admission
• Apply and be accepted to Haskell Indian Nations University
• Contact the Admissions Office if you need help
Step 2: Complete the FAFSA
• Go to www.studentaid.gov
• Enter Haskell FAFSA School Code: 010438
• Create your FSA ID
• Dependent students: one parent must also create an FSA ID
Step 3: Review Your Student Aid Report (SAR)
• Online FAFSA: about 1 week
• Paper FAFSA: up to 4 weeks
• Review and submit corrections if needed
Step 4: Check Your Email
• New students: email listed on FAFSA
• Current students: Haskell email account
• Check your email regularly
Step 5: Complete Verification Forms (if selected)
• Forms will be emailed to you from the Financial Aid Staff/Office.
• Complete and return all required documents
Step 6: Review Your Financial Aid Award
• Award notice sent by email and can be viewed in your student portal.
• Review eligibility and award amounts in your student portal.
Step 7: Financial Needs Analysis (if requested)
• Request form after completing Steps 1–6
• Submit 2–3 weeks before the entity deadline.

• Handled by the Haskell Bursar Office
